China Airlines is the flag bearer of the Republic of China (Taiwan) and is, although nominally a separate corporation, owned by the state. It has been around since the late 1950's though it is a far different airline now than it was then. In recent years it has enjoyed significant investment and upgrading, enabling it to compete much more with the better known Western airlines.
With a fleet of just under fifty aircraft, and an average age of just five years, China Airlines has been transformed from what it once was, and is set to develop further now it has the capability to offer comparable services to other carriers.
The airline's Business Class service for example, called Dynasty, offers a very comfortable alternative to regular Economy, with around 47 to 50 inches of legroom, a dedicated entertainment system and exquisite cuisine.
