The most well known image of Bangkok is the Grand Palace, used by the country itself to promote tourism, and clearly working well considering the number of visitors the city has. Also extremely popular are the different Buddha's that can be found. The enormous reclining Buddha, a bejeweled behemoth that dominates it's location, or the Jade Buddha, a beautiful sight that seems to magically draw the eye.

Taking a view of more down to earth culture the canal markets are a must. Get there early to find the best home grown fruit, sold on the canal itself amidst the many local people who shop here daily.

Of course the city does have a more modern side as well, with a well known reputation for entertainment that draws visitors from far and wide. Of course the city isn't all like this, but for those looking for such features there are areas dedicated to these more mature themes. The clubs are buzzing, with tourists everywhere taking a look at what is happening and generally just seeing what is going on. It's certainly fascinating.
